ConjuChem Company Overview

ConjuChem Company Overview

The goal of ConjuChem is to create novel, next-generation medicines using long-acting therapeutic peptides. Bioconjugation platforms called Drug Affinity Complex (DAC™) and Preformed Conjugate-Drug Affinity Complex (PC-DAC™) underlie all ConjuChem compounds. The DAC™ and PC-DAC™ technology platforms are broadly applicable to peptides and most traditional small molecules. When applied to specific compounds, DAC™ and PC-DAC™ help to create new drugs with similar therapeutic activities but with significantly longer durations of activity and improved safety profiles.

One of the greatest strengths of the DAC™ and PC-DAC™ technology platforms is their ability to harness the profound therapeutic potential of peptides. Traditionally, clinical use of peptides has been hindered by a variety of limitations—particularly their short durations of in vivo activity. The short duration of activity is caused by rapid peptidase degradation and subsequent elimination from the blood stream.

These novel compounds are administered through subcutaneous (SC) injection and have potential application in numerous therapeutic areas. The Company's current program is focused on incretin mimetics for the treatment of diabetes.
